Welcome to 2012 Y-ME Race At Your Pace

Thank you for joining us.

Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!

Grant Park was filled love, laughter, warmth, remembrance and hope today, as more than 30,000 runners and walkers, friends, family and co-workers came together to help Y-ME provide breast cancer support 24/7 for anyone who needs it.

On behalf of all of us at Y-ME, thank you to everyone who helped make the 21st Annual Y-ME Race At Your Pace so special.

We’re grateful for you, our participants, for your efforts to raise funds and awareness for our mission to assure no one faces breast cancer alone. You are our ambassadors for the Y-ME Hotline, the only program in the world where anyone touched by breast cancer can call – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – and talk to a breast cancer survivor and be understood in 150 languages. No other other organization comes close.

As a thank you, Y-ME and musician Terry Radigan have partnered to offer you this free download of her song, Every Now and Then, featured at today’s event.  Visit http://www.terryradigan.com/ymefree.

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, including Y-ME Race At Your Pace Presenting Sponsor – McDonald’s, our Platinum Sponsors – United Airlines and Harley-Davidson, our Gold Sponsors – Bumble Bee Foods and Mueller & Company, and our Silver Sponsors – Abbott, Aldi, Athena, Dial, Fleet Feet and Walgreens. And a huge shout-out to our Media Sponsors – NBC 5/Telemundo and K-HITS CHICAGO.

A Special Thanks from Dorothy

"There I was, atop the Start Stage on Race Day morning, looking out onto a sea of Y-ME supporters…what an awesome, empowering sight!"

As a 15-year breast cancer survivor, a past Y-ME Hotline caller, and now, a highly-trained Y-ME Peer Counselor, Dorothy knows just what a successful Y-ME Race means.

"Thanks to all those Race participants, and our wonderful Race Sponsors, I can continue to help others on their breast cancer journeys, with support and information only a survivor can share, just like someone helped me those many years ago.

Y-ME is on a mission to assure no one faces breast cancer alone.  Your support makes that possible.  Thank you!"

How'd You Do?
